Negreanu Wins First Major Online Title, Canada still Trails

Daniel Negreanu helped the Canadian cause with his first major online tournament victory in PokerStars' Spring Championship of Online Poker. Kid Poker's incredible run in 2013 continued Sunday morning when Canada's most famous player took down SCOOP Event #39: Pot Limit Omaha for a $216,000 payday.
Negreanu has had deep runs in WSOP-APAC, European Poker Tour and World Poker Tour Main Events already in 2013, and he added another major chunk to his bankroll by winning the $5,200 Pot Limit Omaha event, claiming his first SCOOP bracelet in the process.
Although Negreanu's win has pushed Canada up the rankings, the UK has the surprise lead heading into Main Event play this weekend. Will Europe's success so far in the series block Canada's quest to become thetop earning country in SCOOP history?
Won my first ever major online poker tournament. This last two months has been the sickest run of my career. So thankful and SO FUN!
