Last night a young woman from Staten Island NY announced herself a WSOP star with a $609,017 bracelet win in her third final table appearance and sixth cash of the series.
The win, heads up over Canadian Yongshuo Zheng, brought Loni Harwood into the top 3 for World Series player of the year trailing Canada's Daniel Negreanu and Brit Matthew Ashton.
She bested a field of over 2,500 in yesterday's $1,500 No Limit Hold’em event and had previously outlasted 2,812 in event #53 earning $210,456 for her fourth place finish.
She will be one to watch in our $10K Main Event coverage which began today. She's already 8th on the ladies' all time WSOP money list thanks to 9 WSOP circuit cashes and 2 event victories prior to her huge blowout at this year's series in Las Vegas.
PokerNews Video Interview: She comes across as a pretty grounded relaxed player, which has proven to be a key quality in most all of the young talented players today.
