New WPT Event Announced for Canada: Fallsview Poker Classic

World Poker Tour

The World Poker Tour has announced another expansion to the Season XII schedule. They have added WPT Fallsview Poker Classic in February of 2014.

The WPT has only just wrapped up their second successful event in Montreal, and is now excited to return to Canada for a $5,000 main event at the Fallsview Casino Resort. The single-entry, three-day tournament will run from February 22nd to 24th following the three-event Fallsview Poker Classic series.

WPT President Adam Pliska explained that "poker is more popular than ever in Canada, and our players have been asking us to add another WPT stop north of the border.” Fallsview Casino Resort, just an hour outside of Toronto, Ontario in Niagara Falls was selected as the new location. "We’re thrilled to accommodate [Canadian players] by adding this great new event to the tour, and we look forward to another fantastic event on Canadian soil.”

Greg Medulun, Director of Communications with Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara, says “the return of the WPT is exciting news for all talented and notable poker enthusiasts. Our casino is well-suited to host what will be a definite sold-out event given the added excitement WPT brings.”

Besides buying into each event directly, players can also qualify through satellites starting as early as December 9th, and super satellites starting in February. There will also be online satellites available exclusively at

As the name of the casino might suggest, the beautiful Niagara Falls are nearby and visiting players will want to visit the famous landmark while they are in town. With the spectacular views from the rooms in the hotel tower, you might not even have to leave your room to see North America’s most powerful waterfall.
