Action Gets Started at Playground Poker Spring Classic

Playground Poker Spring Classic

As one of Canada’s top live-poker rooms, Playground Poker Club in Kahnawake, Quebec puts on some of the best poker festivals in the country. Starting today and running through April 1st, their Spring Classic festival is sure to be one of Canada’s top series in 2014.

Culminating in a $1,100 World Poker Tour (WPT) Main Event, which begins March 27th, the 2014 Spring Classic maintains a very similar schedule to previous Fall and Spring Classics with a range of events at buy-ins to meet everyone’s bankroll. Including the WPT Main Event, the Spring Classic has 11 regular events, plus six satellites into the Main Event from as little as $60.

Playground’s strength is the variety of tournament formats they put into their festivals. In addition to Event 5: Pot-limit Omaha 3 Lives, the Spring Classic will feature a different kind of Hold'em nearly every day. From the Shootout in Event 2, to the “Win the Button” in Event 8, the 6-Max in Event 3, and the “All in or Fold” in Event 9, there is a format to match everyone's game preference.

It can be safely assumed that there will be a lot of money up for grabs at this festival, but WPT and Playground are also guaranteeing there will be large prize pools. Kicking the festival off today is Event 1, a three-day $150 tournament with four Day 1's and a huge guarantee of $100,000. The greatly-anticipated WPT Main Event also has a $1,000,000 guarantee.

Phil S. from Playground Poker described the excitement in the poker room:

"The atmosphere at the moment is insane. Turnout for the tournament has exceeded our expectations, while the cash game action is hotter than ever. With a Bad Bead Jackpot hovering around $400K, players have a hard choice to make; tourney or cash?!"

Whether you play poker for fun, for profit, or for glory, there will be something for every poker player at the Playground Poker Spring Classic. Watch the PokerNews Canada homepage for a report of the action.
