Canadian Tournament Calendar - May 2014

Canadian poker tournament calendar: May 2014

Want to play poker in Canada? We have the only comprehensive list of major Canadian poker tournaments each month, and the May edition is available for you here. With our help, you'll know where the action is from coast to coast. Don't a miss a single Canadian major by checking in each month for our calendar of events.

As the highlight of the global poker season — the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas — sneaks up on us, local organizers cut back on major tournament offerings as they understand that many of Canada's serious poker players will be in Nevada battling for a WSOP bracelet in one of the 65 events this year. So, there are just a few noteworthy tournaments early in the month in Canada, and one major one from PokerStars set to run just before the WSOP kicks off later in May.

Maritime Poker Championship

Location: Casino New Brunswick – Moncton, New Brunswick
Date: April 26th to May 4th

Touting the claim of “Atlantic Canada’s biggest poker series,” the Maritime Poker Championship is not overstating their prominence on the annual poker calendar for maritimers. This is the premier event of the year for players in the eastern-most part of the country. The seven-event series spans two weekends and has buy-ins between $115 and $1,100, and got started late in April but runs into early May.
