CPT Summer Showdown Day 5: Derakhshan Seyedamir Wins Mega Stack

On the menu on Tuesday for Canadian Poker Tour (CPT) Summer Showdown was a deepstack event for the players who like to start with a taller stack.
Event 4: $550 Mega Stack proved to be a popular one as 192 entries created a prize pool of $91,200, breezing past the $60,000 guarantee, at Grey Eagle Resort & Casino in Calgary, Alberta.
At the end of the day, local player Derakhshan Seyedamir earned the top prize of $23,000 and the CPT trophy. There were 19 players who made money in the event, with a min-cash worth double the buy-in at $1,105.

Some of the notable finishes include Ryan Schoonbaert who also cashed Event 1, finishing 10th. Mike Leah was anticipated to show up, and did so with a bang by finishing fourth. Already sitting in seventh in the CPT Player of the Year race, this finish catapults Leah into a top spot on the leaderboard and he's just getting started in this series.
Next up is the unique Win the Button event with a $330 buy-in on Wednesday. Later in the day, at 6 p.m., the $3,300 High Roller will kick off with registration open throughout all of Day 1 and into the first three hours of Day 2.
