OLG Casino Point Edward Cancels 17th Annual Blue Water Classic

The Blue Water Classic at OLG Casino Point Edward has been cancelled.

The Ontario poker series was originally scheduled to run the 17th rendition of the annual event from November 14 to 16, but we recently noticed that the satellites had been pulled off of the calendar.

We got a hold of casino manager Nora Jennings who hesitantly verified that the Blue Water Classic was, indeed, "currently cancelled." When asked for the reason, she cautiously said that there was not enough interest shown, and then asked that all further questions be directed to her via email. We have not received any response to further questions.

With the event still over two months away, it is unclear what measure they used to determine that the poker community was not interested in the series.

The 17th annual Blue Water Classic was scheduled to run at the same time as the Harvest Poker Classic at Casino Regina, so Canadian players can head to Saskatchewan if they had their heart set on a low-mid stakes poker series. Or, you can wait a week and get down to Playground Poker Club for World Poker Tour Montreal where there will be plenty of great events to play.
