Two Tickets to Paradise
PokerStars Team Pro Leo Fernandez found himself with a few days of free time after the Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) in Panama concluded before heading to Barcelona for the European Poker Tour (EPT).
According to the PokerStars Blog, Two Tickets to Paradise, Fernandez was invited to relax in San Blas, a small island in the Caribbean Sea, where he was told: "Leo, take into account that where we're going there is no Internet to play poker, not even mobile phone coverage."
Being off the grid can prove to be a great way to relax and recharge the batteries before its back to work. Ironically, Fernandez's first thought when arriving to this tropical paradise was, "Oh my god, I'm stuck in a computer screen saver!"
Head to the PokerStars blog to read more about Fernandez's trip to San Blas.
Win $100 Cash with the #HiHand #LoHand Promotion
The Full Tilt blog is always full of discussion about all the nosebleed games frequently taking place on the site. But sometimes a promotion is thrown in to keep us on our toes.
Full Tilt is challenging you to Tweet a screenshot of you winning a pot with 40 big blinds or more at showdown, with your strongest or weakest hand.
High hands should be tweeted to @FullTiltPoker with the hashtag #HiHand while your lowest hand should be tweeted with the hash tag #LoHand. Hands you played on PokerStars also count towards this promotion and you can save yourself some time by using the BOOM hand history replayer.
The hands must have taken place in October in order to qualify for this competition, with Full Tilt declaring the winners of $100 in cash on Friday, October 25.
Check out the Full Tilt Poker blog to find out how you can pad your wallet with an additional $100 in cash.
The Power of Position
When first learning poker, it is important to learn hand strengths. It may be equally (if not more) important to learn the power of position and how to use this to your advantage. Whether you are a beginning player or not, there may be something for you to learn in the partypoker blog titled, The Importance of Position in Poker.
Partypoker's Josef Rantamaki breaks down why position is important, what hands you should consider playing, and how to approach different types of opponents.
