This past Sunday was a special day for the online poker community, specifically for players on PokerStars. This week, PokerStars ran a festival leading up to Sunday’s One Billionth Tournament celebration. All week long, players enjoyed added bonuses and boosted prize pools for all of their favourite events.

The One Billionth Tournament featured a $109 no-limit holdem event with a guaranteed prize pool of $2,000,000! When registration closed, 34,081 entries were received creating a prize pool of $3,408,100. Uruguay’s 'kofi89' came out on top taking down a first-place prize of $329,586.

The top players out of Canada were 'hurikane3' who finished in 17th for $6,168, and busting just behind him was 'blues_x_man' who received the same pay out for an 18th-place finish.

Over on Full Tilt, the 27th edition of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) began with the first two of 32 boasting a prize pool of over $4,000,000 throughout the series. Stay tuned throughout the week to see which Canadians can make a deep run and possibly pick up a FTOPS gold jersey.
