There was a new millionaire made in Canada last weekend, thanks to PokerStars.
The biggest possible prize of $1 million in the $5 buy-in PokerStars Spin & Go was won by Canadian 'anushan_2323'. They had to beat 'ChipsMongot' and 'jukebox72' to win the million in the three-handed sit-and-go. The other two opponents earned a consolation prize of $100,000 each — still an incredible reward for playing a $5 tournament that lasts a few minutes.
Another millionaire was made earlier in the weekend when Czech Republic's 'Tornádo111' also spun up a million-dollar prizepool on a $5 Spin & Go.
Spin & Gos are three-player hyper-turbo sit-and-gos that have a randomized prizepool that isn't know until all three players are seated at the table. Often, the prizepool is double the buy-in, but it can be four times, six times, all the way to 1,200 times, or even $1 million, on the $5 tables.
The special $1 Million Spin & Go promotion was originally launched as part of PokerStars' December Festival, but the $5 buy-in $1 million Spin & Go tournaments were extended through all of January as the three promised million-dollar prizepools out of 10 million eligible Spin & Gos were not all claimed.
