New Brunswick’s Brandyn Trenholm was the latest champion of the annual Deep Freeze Bounty at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Taking place over the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of February, the event drew in 197 entries who braved the severe maritime conditions.
The $440 no-limit hold'em tournament featured a $100 bounty from each buy-in awarded to any player eliminating another. As an added bonus, Red Shores added two mystery bounties of $250 which were awarded with the elimination of two randomly drawn positions. The prize pool reached $59,100 and, with the victory, Trenholm received the top prize of $17,245. According to The Hendon Mob, this will be Trenholm’s first live recorded tournament cash.
Of the 197 hopefuls to begin play, only 40 moved on to the Championship Session on Sunday, with only 20 of those making the money. Here is a list of the top 20 players:
