The double dipping continued on Tilt as another Canadian duo made the final nine of The Sunday Major. ‘Fold2late’ went to the bank for $15,471 with a fourth-place elimination and ‘mralan2950’ snagged a seventh-place score of $5,801.
Sunday Majors on PokerStars
A couple of Canadians got heated up early in the Sunday Warm-Up. ‘Big_pot1984’ took seventh for $13,545 and ‘dirty.brasil’ grabbed $7,792 for eighth. There was another double dip in the Sunday Rebuy. ‘Naslund44’ earned $20,070 for a fourth-place finish and Ben ‘NeverScaredB’ Wilinofsky padded his roll with a sixth-place cash for $11,373. For the second week in a row, a Canadian took the largest portion of the Sunday Storm. Although ‘qpglen’ did not emerge victorious, they did receive $26,778 after a five-way chop. The Sunday 500 also had a Team Canada duo at the final table. ‘AnIrishFinn’ scored a fourth-place prize of $27,046 and ‘bgame153’ walked away with $11,670 for seventh.
Canada owned the final table of the Sunday 2nd Chance with four finalists. ‘HopezACE’ (second — $30,868), ‘Carster’ (fourth — $17,323), ‘xSuPrA’ ($4,812), and ‘caps42’ (ninth — $2,887) all grabbed a massive portion of the prize pool. Jon ‘apestyles’ Van Fleet has been crushing the virtual felt as of late, as was noted in a recent interview with the Vancouver-based American, and this week was no exception as he scored another $17,589 for a runner-up finish in the Sunday 6-Max.
Sunday Majors on 888poker
This week there were two notable majors on 888poker, as the usual weekly major was on the schedule as well as The $200,000 Whale, which comes up once a month. The $530 tournament received 520 players, and four Canadians made the final table. 'AceSpade11' finished runner up for $39,000, just beating 'morans350' who finished third for $24,700. The other two players flying the maple leaf were 'ColdUniverse' (fifth — $13,520) and 'histeakspro' (ninth — $4,420). The weekly $100,000 Mega Deep saw just one Canadian on the final table, but it was histeakspro once again with another ninth-place finish for $2,370.
Sunday Majors on partypoker
After a one-week hiatus for last week's SuperBowl XLIX that was sure to drop the participation of the online tournament, partypoker's $200K Guaranteed Sunday returned and once again had a small overlay in the prizepool of a little over $15,000. There were 990 players for the weekly major, and it came down to a three-way chop. The top-finishing player from Canada came from the classy username 'milfseeker69' who received $4,300 for eighth place.
