Dozens of PlayNow Qualifiers Headed to WSOP Monster Stack

PlayNow Monster Stack WSOP

One of the most anticipated events on the 2015 World Series of Poker (WSOP) calendar is the return of the Monster Stack. Most players love to start with as many chips as tournament organizers are willing to give them, and the Monster Stack gives players exactly what it says on the tin.

Rather than the usual 7,500 chips provided for a $1,500 buy-in (and that's up from the 4,500 provided in earlier years), Event #28: Monster Stack $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em gives players 15,000 chips to start with, providing plenty of play for the money in the hour-long levels. Last year, 7,862 entries created a massive prizepool that paid more than $1.3 million to Hugo Pingray when he won the coveted bracelet.

Knowing that this would be one of the most popular events on the schedule, PlayNow Poker ran daily qualifiers throughout all of April and May, awarding 100 Monster Stack packages to players in B.C., Manitoba, and Quebec. For between $24 and $53, satellites ran every single day for two months on PlayNow Poker, and now those package winners are packing their bags for Las Vegas.

The Monster Stack package includes the $1,500 buy-in to the event, plus $1,100 for expenses, and access to the VIP PlayNow Las Vegas Party at Nobu Suites in Caesar's Palace on June 11. Here are all of the players who won their package on PlayNow poker and will be wearing the government-operated poker site's patch at the table:

As PlayNow Poker operates on the Canadian Poker Network, sharing the same pool of players across the three regulated provinces, Quebec-based players were also able to win Monster Stack packages on the French poker site, Espacejeux. Here are all of the package winners from that poker room:

All of these players will be enjoying a trip to Las Vegas and will have their buy-in paid to the Monster Stack, starting on June 12 for Day 1a and June 13 for Day 1b. For those that are wearing the PlayNow patch (the B.C. and Manitoba qualifiers), PlayNow has added an additional $13,000 in value for free. The last PlayNow qualifier still in the Monster Stack will earn a WSOP Main Event seat!

To follow this last-longer challenge and to provide coverage of all of these qualifiers, PokerNews Canada will be on site keeping our eye on the PlayNow players.
