2015 WPT Legends of Poker Day 1a: JC Tran Bags the Most
The World Poker Tour (WPT) is back with their Legends of Poker event at The Bicycle Hotel & Casino in Los Angeles, sure to attract some of the greatest poker players in North America. With a $3,700 buy-in, there are three Day 1s to allow players a chance at what will be a large prize pool. Day 1a concluded on Saturday, August 29, with JC Tran sitting on top of the chip counts.
The first day of action in this premier event drew 171 entrants and 68 of them still had chips to bag for Day 2. Only one player amassed more than 200,000 chips — the aforementioned chip leading JC Tran from the hosting state of California.
Top 10 Stacks from WPT Legends of Poker Day 1a
Many of the usual suspects were present for Day 1a. Outside of the top 10 were the likes of Will Failla (94,100), Jordan Cristos (84,700), Chris Moorman (72,500), Taylor Paur (50,000), Brian Yoon (43,600), and many others.
There weren’t any notable Canadians to survive the day. Both Matt Salsberg and Sheraz Nasir were eliminated before play concluded, but they still have two more chances at a Day 1 and can even buy in directly to Day 2.
Day 1b begins at 1 p.m. at The Bicycle for another 10 levels of play. Check back here at PokerNews Canada for an update on the action with our eye on the Canadian contenders.
