$369,740 to Play For in Summer Super Stack Main Event; D.V. Leads

The bar has been raised. Deerfoot Inn & Casino’s Summer Super Stack Main Event concluded its third and final starting day on Sunday, and the large field pushed the prize pool above $350,000.
The 128 entries from Day 1c in the $1,500 Main Event added to the 150 from Days 1a and 1b combined put the final tally at 278 entries, which bests February’s Winter Super Stack Main Event by 22 entries. The original prize pool guarantee of $200,000 was virtually met after Day 1b, so the large Sunday field was all gravy, eventually locking in at $369,740 to play for with $86,000 going to first place.
After 10 one-hour levels of play, Day 1c came to a close with 42 players still holding chips. With heaps more than anyone, D.V. bagged an astonishing 505,500 chips to take to Monday’s final day.
Only two other players amassed more than 200,000 on Day 1c. Andrei Pui will return with 279,200 and the always-colourful Jay Dragland will be playing 201,700 on Monday. D.V.’s more than half a million chips is miles ahead of Day 1b chip leader Joe Lu’s 356,000 and Day 1a chip leader Richard Mullen with 285,300.
