Final Série Royale de Poker of 2015 Ends in Five-Way Chop at Casino de Montréal
Another Série Royale de Poker at Casino de Montréal offered a great casino tournament in Quebec’s largest city. The latest in the ongoing series that pops up several times a year took place across four days and wrapped up on Sunday, December 13.
While the series usually runs single-day tournaments with buy-ins of $1,000 and up, this time the cost of a seat was set at $500 and there were three starting days feeding a single Day 2.
A total of 161 players came to the tables across the three starting flights, and 48 of them returned on Sunday to try to survive and find themselves among the top 18 who would collect a payout.
Once down to the final five, an even chop was agreed to, giving each player a prize of $9,989 each. The final five included Wafic Fala, Michael Elkoby, Barry Windover, Eric Theroux, and Blake Carriere.
This was the sixth and final event in the series for 2015. The next Série Royale de Poker at Casino de Montréal will follow the same format and will run from February 4 to 7, 2016 with the same buy-in of $500.
