TonyBet is Coming to Canada, Featuring a $500,000 Event at Playground Poker Club

Tonybet Winter Festival Playground Poker Club

TonyBet is coming to Playground Poker Club. It was recently announced that TonyBet has become the title sponsor of Playground’s Winter Festival held at the world-class poker room just outside of Montreal, Quebec.

The series runs from January 29 to February 10 with a 13-event schedule of no-limit hold’em and pot-limit Omaha tournaments including a $1,100 Main Event with a $500,000-guaranteed prize pool.

It all gets started with the $160 All-Stars for Starlight — a charity event benefiting the Starlight Children’s Foundation. There will be four entry flights, and $25 from each buy-in goes to the charity. The tournament also boasts a $100,000 guarantee on the prize pool and promises to be attended by hockey legend Larry Robinson as well as many more local and national personalities.

This is a first for TonyBet to have a presence in a live Canadian poker event. The world’s leading open-face Chinese poker site is the brainchild of the legendary Tony G. Though there’s nothing shown on the schedule yet, Playground Poker Club COO David Montour said we should “look out in coming days for the addition of an [open-face Chinese] element to the festival which will bring the popular game to Playground for the very first time!”

TonyBet also features rake-free no-limit hold’em and pot-limit Omaha cash games on their site with unique features like straddles. Satellites to the TonyBet Winter Festival will be running online starting in early January while live qualifiers are already running at Playground, and they will continue to run well into the series.
