The PlayNow Poker Championship is returning for the best poker series you can find anywhere in Manitoba.

McPhillips Station Casino will play host to the PlayNow Poker Championship in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 20-23. There will be four events spread across four days with buy-ins ranging from $300 to $1,100 with each one carrying a different title sponsor.

First up is the Winnipeg Free Press No Limit Texas Hold’em Tournament on Wednesday, April 20, which carries a buy-in of $600. Players will receive 10,000 chips and 30-minute blind levels to try to last through 21 levels before they will return to play down to a winner on Thursday.

That will be followed by the 92 CITI FM No Limit Texas Hold’em Bounty Tournament on April 21. With a buy-in of $300, each player will carry a $50 bounty value which will be given to the player that eliminates them. With 5,000 chip and 20-minute blinds, play will come to an end within the same day.

Friday, April 22, will be the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Poker Championship which is the Main Event of the series. The buy-in of $1,100 earns players 15,000 chips and 45-minute blind levels. They’ll play 15 levels before bagging chips for a second day on Saturday where they will play down to a winner. The defending champion in this event is Mark Klimchuk who topped a field of 161 entries last spring to win $43,205.

The final chance at a big tournament cash will come on Saturday with the No Limit Texas Hold’em Tournament. The buy-in is set at $400 to receive a seat and 8,000 chips. With quick 20-minute blinds, this is a one-day tournament.
