David Quang Leads 88 Survivors After Day 1b of WPT Montreal

The second starting flight of the $2,000,000 partypoker.net World Poker Tour (WPT) Montreal got underway Saturday morning gathering a field of 213 entries. Headlining the 2016 Playground Poker Fall Classic, this tournament marks the third time in 2016 the WPT has come to Playground Poker Club. After 10 levels on Day 1b, Ontario native David Quang leads the surviving 88 players.

Unable to surpass his Day 1a counterpart Eric Afriat, who mustered a stack of 214,500, Quang nearly broke the 200K mark, falling just short with 196,100. Quang was followed closely by Michael Dentale (187,300), Manig Loeser (182,700), Senthuran Vijayaratnam (182,100) and WPT Champions Club member Matthew Salsberg (174,400).

Some familiar faces still in the mix include Ryan Rivers (137,500), Kyle Bowker (123,500), Ami Alibay (119,000), Jason Mann (108,000),Jeffrey Cormier (106,700), Fabio Luongo (77,000) and Canadian 2016 World Series of Poker bracelet winner Kristen Bicknell (39,700). Partypoker.net qualifiers Samuel Gagnon, Brady Hinnegan, William Blais, Jean-Pascal Savard, Martin Rauss and Stephen Caplan were all able to keep the dream alive through their first test.

In need of firing a final bullet after falling on Day 1b were Ankush Mandavia, Ari Engel, Darren Elias, Griffin Benger, Mike Leah, Mike McDonald, and Will Failla. Anyone not able to book a seat on Day 2 thus far will have their final opportunity on Sunday as Day 1c kicks off at 11 a.m.
