partypoker Launches Progressive KO Tournaments and a New Cash Game

Partypoker added Progressive Knockout tournaments and Fast Five cash games to its client.

Progressive Knockout tournaments, also called progressive bounty tournaments, are a popular variant in the online poker world, thanks in part to giving players the chance to win large sums of money without the need to cash in the actual tournament.

As the name suggests, players start the tournament with bounties on their heads and these bounties increase every time they eliminate an opponent, which makes players more attractive targets for the rest of the table. If a player wins the tournament, she not only scoops the first-place prize but also takes her own bounty, which by this stage will likely be quite large.

Initially, partypoker is running Progressive Knockout tournaments three times per day. It is likely that more will be added to the schedule in the coming weeks.

Fast Five cash games

Fast Five cash games are six-handed no-limit hold’em cash games where players sit down with only five big blinds, leading to fast and furious action. Some of partypoker’s rivals offer this cash game variant, including 888poker who call theirs “Push or Fold.”

“Today we launch two new products on partypoker that will suit both tournament and cash game players," said Tom Waters, the group head of partypoker. "Progressive Knockout tournaments are a popular format in the poker community so it was important to respond to feedback and offer these on partypoker. Fast Five is a fun, fast-paced cash game, suitable for players with only a short amount of time but wanting action quickly.”

Try out the new Progressive Knockout tournaments and Fast Five cash games by partypoker via PokerNews Canada and making a deposit using the bonus code “CAPNEWS” and partypoker will match your initial deposit 100 percent up to $500.
