Mike Leah Wins Fallsview Poker Classic Kickoff Event for Third Time in Four Years 0001

Mike Leah has done it again.

The Ontario native has won the first event of the annual Fallsview Poker Classic, pocketing $244,244. He also won this same tournament last year, as well as two years prior. That makes Leah the winner of this tournament three out of the last four years!

The $1,100 tournament kicks off the four-event series at Fallsview Casino Resort which culminates in a World Poker Tour event. Being the only major tournament series offered in Ontario each year, poker-hungry players flock from all over the province and beyond to create large fields. This year, Leah topped 1,524 players to be the victor.

In 2016, Leah picked up $210,108 for the win. In 2014, he collected $118,982 when he won. His live tournament winnings are now above $5.7 million USD. Add to that his online tournament winnings of just under $3 million USD under the name “goleafsgoeh”, including multiple PokerStars bracelets in their various Championship of Online Poker series.

Leah is currently ranked No. 5 on Global Poker Index’s top Canadian poker players, and No. 81 in the world. After collecting points from this win, that should improve further.
