DeepStacks Poker Tour (DSPT) returned to Alberta less than two weeks after their Calgary series wrapped it. They set up shop at Edmonton’s Casino Yellowhead this time, offering eight events across 11 days.
The series culminated in a $1,100 Main Event with a $300,000 prize pool guarantee. With a final tally of 455 entries after three Day 1s, that guarantee was left in the dust as the total came to a purse of $432,250.
Coming out on top was Paul Brar who earned $89,715 for the win, easily becoming his best tournament result.

Brar also earned a US$3,000 ticket to the 2017 DSPT Championship as part of his prize. That season-ending tournament will take place at Thunder Valley Casino & Resort in California this December.
The other events on the schedule included a bounty tournament, six-max, turbo, pot-limit Omaha, and a ladies-only event.
There are still two more Canadian DSPT stops this year. The Battle of Alberta takes place in September and into October starting with an Edmonton series at Casino Yellowhead and followed by a stop at Grey Eagle Resort & Casino in Calgary.
