CoinPoker Sponsors Japan Poker Cup with Online Qualifiers

Japan Poker Cup

CoinPoker partners up with the Japanese Poker Association (JPA) for this year’s Japan Poker Cup. The news comes shortly after sponsoring this year’s Asian Poker Tour and is the result of the team’s continued efforts to make their mark in the thriving Asian poker scene.

CoinPoker representative Adrian Tamas and Kinichi Nakata, president of the Japan Poker Association, began discussions a potential collaboration earlier this year. In light of the regional interest in blockchain technology, as well as the association’s goal of promoting poker across the nation, Nakata expressed that a partnership with CoinPoker was inevitable: "I believe in the CoinPoker project, and I believe in a successful partnership between CoinPoker and the Japan Poker Association."

CoinPoker is a cryptocurrency based poker room that utilizes CHP tokens to power all bets and transactions. It's the product of a universal demand for a poker platform that encourages fair play, and uses the revolutionary movement towards blockchain solutions for an enhanced online poker experience.

Tamas: "We are excited to continue expanding throughout Japan and Asia."

In an attempt to assist the Japanese Poker Association with their vision for making poker accessible to all residents of Japan, particularly those living in isolated rural regions, online qualifiers for Day 1 of the event will be hosted on CoinPoker. This pushes the reach of Japan’s biggest poker tournament even further, making it possible for anyone to participate.

“CoinPoker is looking forward to introducing CoinPoker to even more Japanese players. We expect a lot of interest in how we applied blockchain technology and cryptocurrency to online poker, and are excited to continue expanding throughout Japan and Asia,” Adrian Tamas, CoinPoker's representative in Japan said.

Players travel from over 60 poker venues in the nation to compete for the cup. Between April and August 2018, CoinPoker players can win a seat to the first stage of the Japan Poker Cup by playing in a series of online satellites.

The tournament is a freeroll, the ¥5,000 ($47) people pay to enter goes towards renting the venue. Qualifying on CoinPoker for Day 1 is open to anyone local or foreign unable to play in the live local qualifiers. CoinPoker qualifiers can get a spot for Day 1 on Sep. 1. While this sponsorship is designed to promote poker in Japan, all players interested in participating in the event are welcome to join.
