Scoop Up Some Prizes in the 2018 Spring Championship of Online Poker 0001

Every May, the online poker world comes together at PokerStars for the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP). This year marks the 10th anniversary of this massive online poker festival, and it looks to be huge.

With $65 million guaranteed in prizes across the 61 events of the SCOOP X, there will be plenty of money up for grabs. Every single day of the series will feature at least one tournament with a guarantee of $1 million or more.

With three different buy-in levels for each event, there's almost certainly something for everyone during the SCOOP schedule. There's no limit hold'em events running every day, but the SCOOP also features the widest selection of mixed games in online poker.

The first tournament in the series, SCOOP-01, is a massive no-limit hold'em tournament that will be running Phase 1 tournaments throughout the SCOOP period, all feeding into the Phase 2 on May 20. The low version of this tournament costs just $2.20 with $150,000 guaranteed for the prize pool while the medium version costs $22 to enter and will have a minimum of $1,000,000 up for grabs.

Buy-ins will range from the ultra cheap SCOOP-01-L for $2.20, all the way up to the massive $25,000 SCOOP-14-H High Roller, with prize pool guarantees to match. The SCOOP-58-H (Main Event) guarantees $5,000,000 in prizes, while the medium version of the tournament guarantees $4,000,000 for just a $1,050 buy-in. Even the low version of the Main Event guarantees $1,500,000 in prizes for a $109 buy-in.

In 2017, the high version of the Main Event saw 693 entries with 80 paid spots. That put $6,930,000.00 into the prize pool, significantly beating the $5,000,000 guarantee. The top prize of $1,200,899.97 went to the U.K.'s "Epiphany77", while Canada's "gibler321" took second place in the standings with a score of $1,122,873.99.

The SCOOP series also marks one of the few opportunities for online mixed game players to compete at the highest level. With formats ranging from HORSE and eight-game through badugi and five-card draw, the selection of non-hold'em games across the SCOOP schedule is second to none.

Action kicks off on the 2018 SCOOP on Sunday, May 6, with a modified Sunday schedule that includes a special SCOOP version of both the Sunday Million and Mini Sunday Million and events run daily through May 21. Get ready to SCOOP up some of the huge prize guarantees.
