Spring PlayNow Poker Championship Kicks Off With Huge Satellite
The Spring PlayNow Poker Championship (#PNPC) got underway yesterday with a multi-table satellite event to award tickets to the $1,100 Main Event. With close to 300 total entries, the satellite ended up awarding 29 seats to the Main Event, plus $220 to the 30th-place finisher.
Bella Lomoina was the last lady standing, and she was also the player to collect the $220 prize for 30th. The players to win seats are listed here in our live reporting page.
The Club Regent Casino in Winnipeg plays host to the Spring PNPC with four events over the next four days, with the satellite priming the poker pump for the rest of the week. Thursday is a $600 tournament while Friday features a $300 bounty event. The $1,100 Main Event gets started on Saturday, and concludes with Day 2 on Sunday. As well, Sunday will feature a $400 last chance event for players before the series wraps up Sunday night.
There's also a race for points among the players this week, with entry in each event worth points based on 10% of the entry fee, and more points to be had from cashing the event. Players who cash will get points worth 2% of their cash value added to their totals. For example, a player cashing for $1,000 can expect an extra 20 points on their total from the cash.
The winner of the points race gets a seat for every event in the fall version of this event, a package worth $2,400. The points race prize is courtesy of PlayNow.com, and isn't raked out of the entries for this series.
Stay tuned to the live reporting section here at PokerNews Canada for coverage of the $600 event on Thursday, and through the rest of the week as we bring you all the action from Club Regent Casino.
