Daniel Negreanu Leads 2019 WSOP Player of the Year Race

The 2019 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Europe has already handed out 10 of the 15 bracelets and after Robert Campbell brought the lead in the WSOP POY race with him to Europe, Daniel Negreanu sits atop the list after a sixth place finish in Event #10: €25,500 Mixed Games Championship. Negreanu was sitting in third place at the time, behind Campbell and Shaun Deeb, but now holds onto a narrow lead with 3,971.54 points, 113 points ahead of Campbell, who sits in second.

Lyle Bateman Appears on Chasing Poker Greatness Podcast

PokerNews Canada's Managing Editor, Lyle Bateman appeared on the Chasing Poker Greatness Podcast this past week.

The Chasing Poker Greatness podcast is hosted by Brad Wilson from Enhance Your Edge where he interviews people in the poker industry.

Mike Leah Final Tables Sunday Million

This past Sunday, the Canadian Sunday Briefing outlined a great run by Canadian pro Mike Leah who final tabled the Sunday Million over on PokerStars.

Leah eventually exited the tournament in ninth place though, raking in $7,715. Another Canadian though went the distance. Canadian "Samuel Peace" managed to get to heads up play, but his plans of a six figure score were overthrown by "dtminator" who won the tournament for $108,027 while "Samuel Peace" settled for $77,667 for the second place finish.
